Tuition Assistance and Scholarships

The Neighborhood has always attracted a creative and loyal staff, many of whom started out here as parents. The contributions of two long-serving Neighborhood Educators are honored each year through scholarships in their names.

Jan Diperna SCHOLARSHIP and Tuition Assistance

Jan Diperna was the beloved Director of the Neighborhood Cooperative for over 20 years. Her incredible warmth and caring nature permeated the school and it was always apparent that she cared very deeply for all of the children, families, and staff members in this community. Her kind words, Listen, Be Kind, Do Your Best, continue to inspire the Neighborhood Community each day. Jan’s kind and giving spirit lives on through many, and we are so touched by her family member’s desire to support a fellow Neighborhood Family.

The Neighborhood Cooperative established a Tuition Assistance Program in Jan’s name in 2011 and it is awarded each year to a family who otherwise would not be able to attend the Neighborhood Cooperative.
