We offer a variety of extended day enrichment programs at the Neighborhood Cooperative. In keeping with our school's play-based philosophy, our enrichment programs aim to extend upon the learning that takes place in class in a fun and developmentally appropriate way.

PS programming is offered from 12-2 Wednesday & Thursday

EXPLORERS

In keeping with our philosophy that children learn through play and hands-on activities, our Explorers program is a developmentally appropriate curriculum based program. Activities might include literacy based activities, science exploration, outdoor adventures, and other extensions of play based learning. Extended day classes start the week after school begins. Contract spots available, remaining spots filled by signing up weekly on a first come first serve basis. Cost per day is $35; please see cost per year below. CHOOSE DAY(S) PREFERRED:

REFUND POLICY

Should a member withdraw from a contracted space after school has been in session, the tuition shall be refunded on a pro-rated basis ONLY under the condition that the space is permanently filled by another child for the remainder of the school year. 2 -Day Preschool Friday class

We are excited to offer a third day option to our younger 3’s programming. The class will meet on Fridays from 9-12 with Ms. Stephanie and is meant to complement the 3’s regularly planned curriculum while also incorporating more music and movement. The class will start on October 4th and run through June 6th.

Pre-K Extended Day Enrichment Programs

24/25 Pre-K 1 & 2 Extended Day Enrichment

We offer a variety of extended day enrichment programs at the Neighborhood Cooperative. In keeping with our school's play-based philosophy, our enrichment programs aim to extend upon the learning that takes place in class in a fun and developmentally appropriate way. Pre-K teachers will incorporate more science, literacy, art, and math into the afternoon programs.

Pre-K programming is offered from 12-2 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Monday- GAMES- This enrichment class is all about learning through play. In this program children will engage in a variety of interactive games designed to enhance their social, cognitive, and motor skills. Children will play games inside and outside, board games, math games, gross motor and fine motor games, and even create their own games! Through play, they will develop teamwork, problem solving abilities, and creativity- all while having fun!

Tuesday- SCIENCE - Our Science enrichment class invites young explorers to discover the wonders of the world around them! Through hands-on experiments and fun activities, children will engage with basic scientific concepts. This class nurtures curiosity and encourages children to ask questions, think critically, and learn by doing- all while having a great time in a supportive environment.

Wednesday- STORIES AND ART- In this enrichment class, creativity comes to life! Children will dive into imaginative worlds through storytelling and unique art projects. This class combines the magic of books and oral storytelling with the joy of hands-on creativity, helping children develop their language, comprehension, and fine motor skills. It's the perfect blend of imagination, literacy, and artistic exploration!

Thursday- TINKERING - This class is designed for little inventors and curious minds! Children will explore the basics of building, problem-solving, and engineering through hands-on activities with various materials. This class encourages creativity, experimentation, and critical thinking, allowing children to design, construct, and learn how things work in a fun and playful environment.

Friday Language & Literacy with Ms. Marsha

This Friday class, led by our experienced literacy specialist, focuses on enhancing letter recognition and phonemic awareness. Through engaging activities and hands-on lessons, students will develop foundational skills crucial for reading and writing. Perfect for early readers or those looking to strengthen their literacy foundation, this class offers a fun and supportive environment to foster a love for language and learning. The class will be held on Fridays 9-12 with Ms. Marsha, beginning on September 20th and running through June 6th.
